GHMC to undertake manhole repairing in Hyderabad

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will soon start the repair work of the manholes at a cost of  Rs 20 crores.

The tender process for this will be completed by February 15 and the entire work is expected to to be completed before the rainy season.

Currently, Hyderabad has 17,000 manholes. Out of this, 8,000 are under GHMC and 9,000 under HMWS&SB.

The Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Ltd has been told to use manholes with metal rings, while telecom operators have been told to keep the manholes safe.

GHMC will also maintain water bodies and main roads of the city. 87 locations have been marked for this development project.
