Rakesh Singh takes charge as the new Chairman of Tumakuru Smart City

Government of Karnataka, in a recent transfer order, has made Rakesh Singh as the new Chairman, Tumakuru Smart City along with charge of District-in-Charge, Tumakuru. Singh, a 1989-Batch officer, is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department.

Singh has succeeded the previous chairman, Shalini Rajneesh, a 1989-Batch officer, who is currently serving as the Principal Secretary, Planning, Program Monitoring and Statistics.

Tumakuru Smart City is underway planning with a spread across 1,354.97 acres of land with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore. It will be situated 70 kilometers away from Bengaluru.

In a recent development, the Danish city of Aalborg and Tumakuru signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct development work on improving city’s infrastructure under a smart city initiative.
