Lenovo and Fudan University to cooperate on smart cities in China

Lenovo Group Limited and the Smart City Research Center of Fudan University have announced their collaboration on a smart city project, covering industrial development and academic research in Shanghai.

The Smart City Research Center of Fudan University was founded in 2012 to conduct research in urban management and business development in future cities.

Lenovo, a Fortune 500 company with an annual income of over 350 billion yuan (US$50 billion), is experienced in smart city construction.

According to Qiao Jian, senior vice president at Lenovo, smart transformation includes Internet of Things (IoT), infrastructure and vertical industries including manufacturing, retail, medical and education sectors.

According to Fudan University’s School of Management, China has about 500 smart city projects nationwide, featuring the latest technologies including cloud computing and sophisticated management applications.
