Infra developed in Smart City Varanasi for divyangs

Under the Smart City project, the Varanasi Smart City installed lifts and ramps at several places to make the city disabled-friendly.

“Ramps and lifts have been installed in Machhodri School. Ramps are also made available at newly developed Namo Ghat for divyangs. Moreover, ramps have been set up at many other buildings and places in Kashi,” said Dr D Vasudevan, Chief General Manager, Smart City Varanasi. Varanasi Nagar Nigam is participating in the second round of Smart City Challenge to enhance its Smart City Proposal prepared in Round 1.

The city is focusing on urban planning with quality of life for the citizens, decentralised system and incentive for innovative use of land.

Under the smart city initiative, the city is leveraging technological intervention for environment management towards sustainable growth.
