Faridabad’s village deploys solar powered e-rickshaw for waste collection

A small village in Faridabad’s Ballabhgarh has started door-to-door garbage collection.

Chandawali village Gram Panchayat has deployed e-rickshaws for waste collection. Till now the service is free, but soon a fee will be levied for this garbage collection.

The Municipal Corporation of this area wanted to start this facility three years back, but the project could not start in time. Now, they plan to officially start this programme by the end of this year.

Unique thing about this waste collection is this that the e-rickshaw which collects the garbage is running on solar energy.

Meanwhile, Gurugram’s Bandhwari 30-acre-landfill site will soon make use of  a leachate treatment plant which will treat more than 100 kilolitres of leachate daily. At present, more than 1,000 tonnes of garbage from Gurugram and Faridabad is discarded daily in the area.

Chinese company Eco green will set up this plant which will also be used to recycle the waste.
