The ongoing construction work of Metro got a major push as the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board released an additional fund of Rs 40 crore.The housing board had earlier released Rs 30.90 crore to the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) for the project.
“The amount will be transferred by the GDA to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The release of funds is expected to boost and speed up construction work of the ongoing project. We expect to complete the project within the scheduled deadline,” said GDA secretary Ravindra Godbole.The housing board is among the four stakeholder agencies in UP for the ongoing Metro project. Under this project, Metro from Dilshad Garden in Delhi will be linked to New Bus Stand in Ghaziabad.
The UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) has also released Rs 5 crore for the metro. The state-run industrial development body will invest a total share of Rs 97 crore in the Metro corridor project.
