In a historical move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rang the bell at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) at the listing of bonds of Lucknow Municipal Corporation today, December 2.
Notifying about his actions in a tweet, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office wrote, “A new chapter will be written in the development history of UP, CM Shri @myogiadityanath Ji to ring the bell at @BSEIndia in Mumbai today for listing of bond of Lucknow Municipal Corporation. LMC’s bonds have witnessed an astounding oversubscription since it’s launch.”
The move made Lucknow the first city in Uttar Pradesh & North India and ninth city in the country to raise Municipal Bonds. The bonds raised have been incentivized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The Lucknow Municipal Corporation will get Rs 26 crore to subsidize its interest burden.
