Yogi Adityanath launches Lucknow Municipal Corporation bond at BSE

In a historical move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rang the bell at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) at the listing of bonds of Lucknow Municipal Corporation today, December 2.

Yogi Adityanath launches Lucknow Municipal Corporation bond at BSENotifying about his actions in a tweet, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office wrote, “A new chapter will be written in the development history of UP, CM Shri @myogiadityanath Ji to ring the bell at @BSEIndia in Mumbai today for listing of bond of Lucknow Municipal Corporation. LMC’s bonds have witnessed an astounding oversubscription since it’s launch.”

The move made Lucknow the first city in Uttar Pradesh & North India and ninth city in the country to raise Municipal Bonds. The bonds raised have been incentivized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The Lucknow Municipal Corporation will get Rs 26 crore to subsidize its interest burden.

At the launch, CM Yogi said, “In COVID times, Lucknow Municipal Corporation will progress towards achieving the ‘Aatmanirbhar’ goal with the listing of municipal bonds worth Rs 200 crores. The Corporation is committed to improving the lives of the citizens living in its jurisdiction.”

Following the grand listing of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation bonds at the BSE, CM Yogi also has plans to meet renowned business leaders like N Chandrasekaran of Tata Sons, Niranjan Hiranandani of the Hiranandani Group, Baba Kalyani of Bharat Forge, S N Subrahmanyan of L&T, Sanjay Nayar of buyout major KKR Ltd, among others to successfully establish a Film City in Greater Noida, as he announced earlier in the month of September. Therefore, CM Yogi is on a two-day visit to Mumbai.

Earlier, on December 1, the UP CM met Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar at a city hotel to discuss the immense possibilities of film shoots in the proposed Film City. Also, as reported by PTI, Rahul Mitra, a Bollywood producer had told that Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to meet a delegation of Bollywood filmmakers on December 2, today, to discuss the future of the proposed film city in the state. As per the news, filmmakers including Subhash Ghai, Boney Kapoor, Rajkumar Santoshi, Sudhir Mishra, Ramesh Sippy, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Madhur Bhandarkar, Umesh Shukla, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur are part of the delegation invited for the meeting.
