Patna rank drops to 35 in Smart City rankings

Patna Smart City

Not a good news for Bihar’s Smart City mission programme as Patna Smart City slipped six ranks down to 35 in the latest Smart City rankings released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). In the 2019 rankings, the smart city secured 29th rank of the 100 smart cities selected by the MoHUA.

Patna Smart CityAccording to the Ministry, Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) scored 54.99 points out of 100 in the rankings published on November 29, 2020, on the Ministry’s official website.

The drop in the rankings can be attributed to stalling of the smart city projects due to the COVID-induced lockdowns. Apart from this, the Bihar government’s fund crunch also had an adverse impact on the projects.
