An urban corridor of connection
Stretching 28.5 km, the alignment links Millennium City Centre with Cyber City and extends via a spur to the Dwarka Expressway—a key growth axis for Gurugram’s expanding northwest. Major stations anchor dense commercial and residential pockets. Interchanges with the Delhi Metro Yellow Line, Bus Stand, Railway Station and future RRTS Delhi–SNB line will make cross-city travel smoother than ever.
This is not merely a transport corridor—it’s an urban spine, realigning Gurugram’s future around public transport rather than private cars.
Design excellence by systra
Designed by Systra, a French company, the stations reinterpret metro architecture through aesthetic, social, and environmental lenses. The palette is contemporary—precast concrete panels, optimised- daylight, and metal screens— creating a consistent yet distinctive visual identity.
Each station integrates:
• Universal Accessibility: tactile paths, ramps, and lifts.
• Fire compliance
• Gender-Sensitive Design: lighting, surveillance, and inclusive restrooms.
• Public Art and Landscaping: transforming transit zones into civic spaces.
• IGBC Green MRTS Certification, embedding sustainability across lifecycle operations—from regenerative braking to solarpowered station utilities
Digital governance: Common data environment
The CDE (Common Data Environment) is the digital nervous system of the project. It integrates design drawings, RFIs, construction records, and inspection data— accessible to all stakeholders in real time. All designs will be managed through a Common Data Environment (CDE), Schematic showing BIM–CDE workflow a digital platform ensuring real-time collaboration between engineers, architects, and project managers. The CDE integrates BIM models, drawing approvals, and inspection reports, setting new standards in digital governance for Indian metro projects.
This ensures transparency, minimises design conflicts, and enables future digital twin creation for predictive maintenance once operations begin.
Engineering innovation: Precast viaducts & underpasses
The corridor’s elevated sections employ precast segmental viaduct technology, a proven method for precision and speed. Segments will be cast, cured, and stressed at a dedicated casting yard near Sector 33, then transported and erected during off-peak hours using specialised launching girders. This system is likely to minimise urban disruption and ensure aesthetic uniformity. At complex crossings— Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Basai—steel composite spans and portal frames will carry the metro across existing flyovers and highways.

Construction management: DB Engineering’s role
As General Consultant (GC), DB Engineering & Consulting Germanybased company & Hill JV oversee every layer of construction management—design integration, safety, scheduling, and interface coordination. Using a digital project dashboard linked with the CDE, DB will track quality benchmarks, progress curves, and safety compliance in real time. Their Lean Construction philosophy ensures optimised workflows and minimal rework. Weekly multi-agency coordination keeps the project aligned with its ambitious timeline.
CC-01 package: Dilip Buildcon – Ranjit Buildcon JV
On-site precast segment inspection or concreting operation, precision casting at DBL–Ranjit Buildcon yard ensures modular speed and quality. The flagship CC-01 package, from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9 with 14 stations & 15.22 KM Long, is being executed by Dilip Buildcon Ltd. (DBL) in a joint venture with Ranjit Buildcon Pvt. Ltd.—a team recognised for high-volume infrastructure expertise.
Construction methodology and casting yard
The casting yard— A facility that will be equipped with gantry cranes, stressing jacks, curing bays, and batching plants—forms the heart of production. The precast segments will be precision-engineered, tested, and then transported at night to minimise traffic impact. Erection will follow balanced cantilever and span-by-span methods, ensuring alignment and safety.
Geo-tech and GPR surveys
Before piling, detailed Geotechnical Investigations were conducted to map subsoil layers, bearing capacities, and water tables. Simultaneously, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys mapped hidden utilities—power cables, telecom ducts, and water lines—for preventing damage and optimising utility relocation.
Traffic management & utility shifting
Given Gurugram’s heavy traffic corridors, DBL-Ranjit JV works with Gurugram Traffic Police and GMDA to implement diversion plans, night-time construction windows, and reflective barricades. Dedicated Utility Cells coordinate with DHBVN, HVPNL, GMDA, NHAI, and HSVP to shift utilities with minimal service disruption.
Safety & quality
The site operates under a Zero-Accident Vision—daily safety drills, PPE enforcement, and digital safety audits in accordance with the SHE Manual. All material and structural tests are uploaded for transparent recordkeeping and review by the General Consultant.
Sector 33 depot: The operational heartbeat
Sector 33 Depot, under design by Systra, will serve as the command centre for rolling stock maintenance and operations. It includes stabling lines, washing plants, inspection bays, and an advanced Operational Control Centre (OCC)—the digital brain coordinating train schedules, traction, and communication networks.
The depot embodies green design principles:
• Rooftop solar panels for renewable energy
• Wastewater recycling units
• STP/ETP
Environment & social responsibility
As a World Bank–funded project, the corridor complies with the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF).
Key initiatives during construction include:
• Tree Transplantation & Compensatory Plantation: Over 18,000 trees to be replanted.
• Dust & Noise Control: Water sprinklers, acoustic barriers, and low-noise machinery.
• Water Management: Sedimentation tanks and recharge pits across sites.
• A robust Grievance Redressal System.
Transit-oriented development & green mobility
The project champions Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) principles—dense, walkable, mixed-use neighbourhoods centred on public transit. Planned around key stations:

Despite hurdles, the CC-01 stretch is already showing progress and will be ready for roll-out by late 2028—a testament to engineering discipline and collaboration.
