Saudi Arabia selects 18 advisors for Smart City NEOM

Saudi Arabia has selected 18 influential people as advisers for its ambitious Smart City NEOM.

This Smart City will be developed along the country’s Red Coast in an area of 10,000 sq miles at a cost of $500 million.

The selected advisors will help on the creation of this Smart City.

They include:

Sam Altman, President, Y Combinator and the co-chair of OpenAI

Marc Adreessen, Co-Founder and General Partner of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz

Tim Brown, CEO and president of design consultancy IDEO

Norman Robert Foster, founder and CEO of Foster + Partners

Travis Kalanich, CEO, City Storage Systems

Marc Raibert, Founder, Boston Dynamics

Carlo Ratto, Director, Senseable City Lab

John Rossant, Founder and Chairman, New Cities Foundation

Masayoshi Son, CEO, SoftBank

and others.
NEOM is the pet project of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It is being reported that few of the advisers selected are not willing to be a part of this Saudi project and might drop out.
