Vodafone’s RFID to track missing kids in Mysuru’s Dussehra

The Mysuru Police has decided to provide Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) devices to children below 14 years for the upcoming Dussehra celebrations.

The Police is expecting a huge turnout at the celebrations in Mysuru Palace and RFID will help in locating missing kids there. The Police has collaborated with Vodafone which will provide these devices.

Parents will have to purchase these tags at the three entry and exit points of the event.

In case any go missing, Police can track the kids through RFID easily.

“Monitoring crowd management, and prevention of cases of missing children presents a different of challenges. The RFID tags will help Police keep an eye on children on children below 14 easily,” said A Subramanyeshwar Rao, Police Commissioner, Mysuru.
