RedBus has launched ‘rPool’, a carpooling and bike pooling digital platform today to facilitate office goers in Delhi. rPool will allow office goers to avail and offer rides in their personal vehicle while commuting between home and their workplace. The platform has been included in the RedBus mobile app for users’ convenience.

Due to the growing demand for intra-city commute, RedBus came up with rPool as a sustainable solution to address the issue. Moreover, car or bike pooling as an alternative is more environment friendly and cost-effective.

rPool offers verified profiles for car/bike pooling in order to build a trusted community of riders and ride takers. To ensure security, users are restricted to office commuters and are verified through their phone numbers and organisations’ corporate/government email id.

Further, through RedBus app users can connect without their numbers being revealed to each other as the app also offers mobile number masking.

To promote shared mobility, the app also offers incentives to ride givers which can be redeemed at fuel stations and Amazon Pay. User profile and feedback mechanism has also been made available to users so that they can choose the ones they wish to travel with. Moreover, the rPool covers it users with a complementary insurance provided by its insurance partner.

Prakash Sangam, CEO, RedBus, speaking on the occasion, said, “Being one of the largest facilitators of road transportation in the country, redBus is committed to making a difference in the urban commute space by providing tested and sustainable travel solutions aided by advanced technology.”

“Vehicular traffic can be reduced significantly during peak hours in the cities if shared mobility concept is implemented and adopted at an appropriate scale. Carpooling or bike pooling is a sustainable and eco-friendly method for curbing traffic woes in Delhi-NCR and offer commuters a viable option of travel that saves both fuel and money”, Sangam added.
