Rs 994.5 crore allocated to Bihar’s 5 smart cities till date

In a bid to improve and expedite the Smart City projects of the state, an amount of Rs 994.5 crore has been allocated to Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Biharsharif smart cities. Suresh Sharma, Minster for Urban Development, Government of Bihar said this while responding to the Legislative Council.

Detailing on the fact he added, Rs 382 crore has been allocated to Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur got Rs 112.5 crore, Rs 380 crore was for Patna and Rs 110 for Biharsharif. The smart city work has been planned for a period of five years.

Further, Sharma informed that the work to build Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) has been given to Bhagalpur. However, the tender for the development of Sandis compound project is in completion stage. Tenders for three major projects including ICCC Software, Smart Road and Integrated Solid Based Management have been published.

Of the tenders invited for nine projects under Muzaffarpur Smart City, one technical bid received for the command and control centre is in process.

According to reports, tenders for various Bihar sharif Smart City projects have been floated already. The work for two projects has been completed and work on five projects has started.
