Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has initiated the process of going digital. The Corporation is collecting its consumers’s email ids and phone numbers so that they can be provided bills and other related documents digitally.
With 85 lakh consumers in the state, PSPCL is working out a roadmap to provide details about electricity bill, outstanding amount, bill payment date and receipt of payment through mobile and email.
It is also planning to track Rs 15,000 crore in power bills through technology.
The corporation will use mobile numbers to disseminate information about the emergency repairs or maintenance in any particular electricity feeder.
PSPCL has instructed all the Chief Engineers and Executive Engineers of the corporation to direct meter readers and cashiers to start collecting the data.
