KT Rama Rao to lay foundation stone of elevated road project today

KT Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Telangana is to lay the foundation stone for the elevated corridor between Nalgonda crossroads and Owaisi junction today, on July 23.

The elevated corridor, which will be a bidirectional four-lane road, is being constructed under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) at an estimated cost of Rs 523.37 crore, will pass via Saidabad and IS Sadan.

According to a press release by the Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) DS Lokesh Kumar, of the total 3.382 km stretch of the corridor, 2.58 km will be of the elevated stretch. The estimated time of completion of the project is two years.

The flyover is designed for a speed limit of 40 kmph. Apart from easing the traffic congestion between Nalgonda crossroads and Owaisi junction, the flyover will reduce travel time for commuters travelling towards Champapet and Chandrayangutta.
