While launching Spheo through videoconferencing, the Minister said, the State government was planning to devise scientific programmes for the comprehensive development of differently-abled people in the post-COVID era. S Sambasiva Rao, District Collector, Kozhikode flagged off the mobile clinic.

The newly launched mobile clinic is a specially designed vehicle which homes equipment for physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy besides trained doctors and therapists who visit homes of differently-abled people and provide them free treatment and medicines while ensuring social distancing norms and other preventions.

Moreover, the mobile clinic will also be used to serve physical, mental and emotional issues and specially trained staff for the same will be available. This is expected to benefit those coming under the National Trust Act such as those suffering from autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities.
