Hyderabad to adopt online building plan approval system soon

Hyderabad

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will soon come up with a new hassel-free online building plan approval system which will allow the applicants to upload online self-certification for details like title, type of land, area and built-up area planned, etc.

HyderabadThe new system, which is expected to be introduced by April 1, is part of the plan to make a few provisions of the new Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019 applicable to the GHMC.

Once the application with basic details is uploaded on the system, the setbacks and other guidelines will be generated by it to help the building owner make modifications, if required, according to media reports.

The proceedings will be issued within 21 days, and if the building plan is found to contain any shortfalls post verification the owner will be directed to suspend the works.

GHMC processes nearly 16,000 building plan applications annually, of which around 14,000 applications are filed for structures coming up in less than 500 square metres with 10 metres height.
