Japan commits Rs 72.86 crore for Bengaluru traffic management system

Urban MobilityThe Government of Japan will provide an aid of Rs 72.856 crore for Bengaluru’s traffic management system.

Under the project, an advanced traffic information and management system, including signaling and traffic congestion length measurement sensor will be installed in the city.

The project will lead to the strengthening of connectivity and industrial competitiveness of local economy by improving traffic congestion and urban environment.

The Exchange of Notes were signed between S Selvakumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India and Kenji Hiramatsu, Ambassador of Japan to India, in New Delhi.

Indo-Japanese bilateral development cooperation dates back to  1958. In the last few years, the economic cooperation between India and Japan has steadily progressed.

This further consolidates and strengthens the strategic and global partnership between India and Japan.
