As the COVID cases witness another streak of rising cases, the Centre has augmented the online vaccine registration portal CoWin to process as many as 10 to 20 million registrations a day. With this, the Centre is making efforts to aggressively enhance the nationwide vaccination drive from April.
The new CoWin portal has an improved user interface and has been worked on to simplify existing features to cater to a larger population expected to pre-register in the coming phase of the vaccination drive that opens for those above the age of 45.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is likely to see over 4-5 million registrations a day on the CoWin platform. Currently, daily 2.5 million to 3 million people are getting vaccinated with only a tenth of those having pre-registered on the CoWin platform, according to government data.
