Alibaba’s cloud-computing for smart city, e-governance and SMEs in Andhra Pradesh

Chandrababu NaiduWith the aim to ensure coherent functioning in various governmental initiatives — smart city, e-governance and Small & Medium Enterprises — an MoU was signed by Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

The event was attended by Chief Minister Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, who acknowledged the relevance of cloud-computing technology and anticipated an ideal outcome after its implementation.

In order to leverage the cloud computing and other smart city technologies in sustainable farming, smart city management, integrated traffic management, small and medium enterprises and skill development programs, the MoU was signed between Chief Executive Officer of APEDB J Krishna Kishore and Vivek Gupta Director, Business Development, Alibaba Cloud India. The other authorities present during this agreement were Alex Li, General Manager, Alibaba Cloud India and some other officials from Alibaba Cloud India.

During the event, discussions encompassing topics like sustainable farming, smart city management, integrated traffic management, small and medium enterprises and skill development were conducted between Chief Minister Naidu and Alex Li.

Speaking on the agreement, J Krishna Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, APEDB said, “The MoU will be vital in enhancing the economy through tech-empowered Small and Medium Enterprise which are incorporated with global value chains.”
