Uttar Pradesh’s Agra city has become the first smart city in the country to have received a state-of-the-art health centre that has been developed as a smart city project under the ambitious Smart Cities Mission.
The health centre, which commenced operations at Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) head office on MG Road on Wednesday, will provide medicines and diagnosis facility to residents at upto 70 percent less than the market price, according to a media report.
“Around 136 tests will be conducted at the smart city health centre at a price 70 per cent less than the market rates. Pharmacy of the clinic will provide prescribed medicines to the patients at the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates,” Mayor Naveen Jain said after inagurating the health centre.
The centre, which also offers dental and eye care, has been equipped with advanced medical equipment with the capability to generate diagnosis report on the same day.
Patients can consult a general physician at the health centre by paying a nominal fee of Rs 50.
Three more such centres have been proposed to be made operational soon at Hanuman temple crossing at Khandari, Central Park in Awas Vikas locality and Gada Para.
