The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has launched a mobile app under the Smart Cities Mission initiative to efficiently redress the grievances related to civic issues faced by city residents.
The Lucknow Smart City App is user-friendly and allows the citizens to register complaints related to electricity, water supply, garbage disposal, streetlights, stray animals and mobility issues digitally. To use the application, people need to download it and activate the GPS feature of their smartphones before reporting their grievances.
The app has been launched six months after the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), which is a centralised system operating on the ‘Master System Integrator (MSI)’ technology. This new technology is able to track the exact location of the complainant and forward it to the department concerned on a real-time basis.
The application also allows the complainants to track the status of their complaints by entering the specific complaint number in their app.
