Mangaluru has made it to the second list of smart cities. Being strategically located, with excellent connectivity by sea, air and road and being located at the mid-point of the western coast, Mangaluru now will have more opportunities to begin new ventures, startups and other entrepreneurial openings and thereby, create new job opportunities.
This could well provide the impetus to prevent youngsters from the city from leaving to greener pastures and in turn, may help the housing market, restaurants, retail and local businesses, and contribute to the overall economic development of the city.
KCCI, which will be a part of the special purpose vehicle that will be set up to implement the project, will be proactive in participating in this project for its proper execution, said Jeevan Saldanha. He took over as KCCI chief last month.
