It’s a history: Govt dedicates 146 mobile towers in Naxal-hit dists

1678(1)Chhattisgarh State entered a new era of Digital Revolution when Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad dedicated 146 mobile towers in the Left-wing extremism-affected Adivasi  areas. He dedicated National Fiber Optical Network’s Internet services to all the panchayats in the bordering district Balrampur-Ramanujganj.

The Union Minister and Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh spoke to Sarpanchs of various panchayats of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district via video-conferencing from the capital. They congratulated the Sarpanchs for the new facility. Prasad said that Balrampur-Ramanujganj is the first district in the entire country where all the old 340 gram panchayats are linked to Internet through the Bharat Sanchar Net programme. He added that the district is a model one not only in Chhattisgarh but in the entire country in Information Revolution.

Union Minister Prasad launched 146 mobile towers from Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh’s official residence. He spoke to Dornapal (Sukma district) and Pamed (Bijapur district) police station in-charges and launched mobile towers. 73 mobile towers were launched in Bastar division and the rest in Surguja district. The minister congratulated Dr Raman Singh, State Government officials, police and central security officials, and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officers on the occasion. He said that entire globe is observing the information technology revolution under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The entire world is attracted to Aadhaar card project and National Optical Fiber Network project.

Union Minister sanctioned 35 new mobile towers in the Naxalites’-affected regions to upgrade the information network. He accepted the proposal put forward by the Chief Minister to sanction 1,600 additional mobile towers and added that 1,085 towers will be sanctioned this year. About 2,000 new towers will come up in the next two years. About 865 towers will be 3-G and 220 towers 4-G. The Union Minister said this is a historic moment not only for Chhattisgarh but for the entire country that all gram panchayts in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district that the Internet facility is being provided via National Optical Fiber Network.

The district has become a model one in the implementation of Bharat Sanchar Net Project. The scholarships of students and the money of various beneficiaries of the State Government schemes will be deposited in their bank accounts.

Prasad said that this is a spectacular achievement in the sixteen years of creation new Chhattisgarh State. He added that he will update the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this rare achievement. He added after receiving proposals from District Collector Wi-Fi facility will also provided to all the villages. Wi-Fi spots will be increased from the present 27 spots to 220 spots soon.

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that it is no less than a miracle. There will not be any connectivity issues to villagers in the remote areas, local State Government officials, common citizens and security officials. He expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for this ultra-modern technology. The Union Minister and Chief Minister spoke on mobile with the far-flung Dornapal (District Sukma) police station in-charge Chandrashekhar and Pamed (District Bijapur) station in-charge Abhay Singh and enquired about their well-being and congratulated the jawans and added there will not be any Connectivity issues with their mobiles from today. Dr Singh spoke to Gram Panchayat Padi Sarpanch Sushma Minj and sanctioned Rs 30 lakh for the construction of a small bridge on her request.

Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Additional Chief Secretary N Baijendra Kumar, Information Technology Principal Secretary Aman Kumar Singh, Home Department Principle Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Secretary of Industry Department Subodh Kumar Singh, CHiPS Chief Executive Officers Alex Paul Menon, Director of Public Public Relations Rajesh Sukumar Toppo, top officers of BSNL and senior of various other departments were also present. District Collector Avnish Sharan was present in a Village Padhi in Balrampur District during Video Conferencing.
