Transerve: Enabling Smart City mission using geospatial platform

Transerve is currently implementing the e-Governance implementation/integration and Property Tax components in cities namely, Aligarh, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. Under this project, we will be providing our geospatial platforms to assist in revenue enhancements for the city using our cutting edge machine learning techniques, says Amarsh Chaturvedi, Co-Founder, and Director and Ashwani Rawat, Co-Founder and Director, Transerve Technologies, in conversation with Sreetama Datta Roy of Elets News Network (ENN).

What is the vision and mission of Transerve? 

Transerve Technologies envisions itself in becoming a technology leader in the field of location-intelligence platforms, deployed as applications for effective decision making. Having been acknowledged as a top Emerging and Innovative company by NASSCOM and Deloitte, our geospatial platforms are now being leveraged for large scale social impact by various government departments and projects like Smart City Mission and AMRUT program to expand our reach across India and SAARC Nations.

What are the flagship products and services of Transerve?

“CityOS” system is one of the key flagship products under Transerve which helps in solving a variety of pressing socio-urban issues while enabling smart-governance. Currently, deployed at numerous state government departments and ULB’s, the product has proven itself to have industry-leading advantages by leveraging open standards.

What are the Smart City and Government of India projects that Transerve is working on?

Transerve is actively involved with the Smart City/Amrut program in four cities across Uttar Pradesh.

Which are the major technologies deployed by Transerve and how are those creating an impact on the projects?

Our products are developed on the industry-leading MEAN stack using micro services architecture which addresses the core aspects of “ease of implantation” and “sustenance. This furthermore allows us to accelerate deployment and rapid customization. Since our products have been built using open standards; the total cost of ownership is very low and is guaranteed perpetual enhancements given the large and thriving user base. Thus, addressing the chronic challenge of sustenance in government programs, wherein every 5 years they are forced to rip and replace systems.

What are the other sectors in which Transverse is foraying into?

At Transerve, we see “social impact” as our core focus area. Transerve was seed-funded by IIM Ahmedabad, and now has Omidyar Network and Tara India Fund as its marquee social impact early-stage investors. The key sector that Transerve is focussing on is the Urban Sector. Our product portfolio includes tools to improve revenue collection, water, and sanitation optimization, mobile app-based citizen portals, spatial analytics, utility management to name a few.

What are the upcoming plans in the pipeline?

Transerve will be shortly releasing a unified platform covering the entire urban landscape, utilizing open standards; with an intention to offer a non-proprietary platform that can be used by all.
