The award ceremony took place at the Urban Mobility India Conference 2023, where Srinagar Smart City emerged as a standout contender, surpassing several strong competitors. This accolade highlights the city’s relentless efforts over the past year to enhance public transport through an integrated multimodal approach, setting a remarkable example for other cities.
Srinagar’s multifaceted approach to improving urban transport includes pedestrianization, public bicycle sharing, e-rickshaw feeder systems, electric bus transport, and water transport. These innovative measures aim to make public transport more efficient, sustainable, and accessible to residents and visitors alike.
