Porbandar-Dwarka highway to be four laned

The Porbandar-Dwarka section of National Highway number 8 will be four laned soon and will cost Rs 1958.88 crore including cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities.

Around 118 km of the road will be developed under this project.

The project will start under the National Highways Development Project(NHDP) Phase IV on Hybrid Annuity Mode, an official statement said.

The four laning of the road will help in reducing the time and cost of travel. Heavy traffic plying between this intersection will also ease out. The central government is hopeful that  the development of this stretch will also help in uplifting the socio-economic condition of this region in the State.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given approval for this project.
