Now pay property tax through Metro Smart Cards in Lucknow

Lucknow Municipal Corporation has collaborated with  Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) for facilitation of property taxes through ‘GoSmart’ card of Lucknow Metro at Metro Stations.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Anil Garg, Divisional Commissioner, Lucknow & Chairman, Lucknow Smart City Ltd and Kumar Keshav, Managing Director/LMRC, along with other senior officers from both the organisations at the administrative headquarters of Lucknow Metro at Gomti Nagar.

“The main objective is to propagate the idea of smart travel for which LMRC is making every possible effort for facilitation of additional customer services for the benefit and convenience of the Metro commuters”, said  Keshav, Managing Director/LMRC.

“I compliment LMRC for executing this MoU in a very fast and in an efficient manner. This will now pave the way for the citizens towards a smarter way of life in Lucknow,” said Garg after the signing of the MoU.

In one of its kind initiative in India, Smart Cards will be used for the payment of property taxes.LMRC will facilitate the collection of tax payments of Nagar Nigam from its customers at its Metro Stations which will enable passengers to use their “GoSmart Card” to make payments for the property tax at ticket counters (TOMs).

LMRC will then forward the collections along with information to the Lucknow Nagar Nigam.

Earlier, LMRC & BSNL had signed a similar kind of MoU for facilitation of customer services of its “GoSmart” card users so that the pre and post-paid bills of BSNL can be paid through the ‘GoSmart’ cards at Metro Stations.
