LMRC conducts trial testing of the first metro train set inside the metro depot

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC), today successfully conducted the test trials of the first Metro train set on 635 metre long test track inside the Transport Nagar Metro Depot.  The Metro train was run at a varying speed of 5 km per hour to 25 km per hour.

At present, the Metro Train is under a process of continuous testing and commissioning in the Depot.  Different tests and parameters are recorded & validated at specialised lab in Europe before going ahead for next level of testing. The testing of different systems like traction and braking is performed at different speed inside the Depot which shall be gradually increased from 5 km per hour to 90 km per hour. The testing of train is going ahead as per the scheduled plan of the Operations department.

The test track inside Metro Depot is a specialised track where the train can run at higher speed up to 50 km per hour (approx.). It also has a virtual platform created through signalling system to test different parameters. LMRC has planned to do specialised tests in depth in the coming days where the tests will be validated by the “Centre of Excellence” at Alstom’s facility in France.

The full testing of different systems and sub systems like brake, motors, doors, AC is planned in a sequential way. After testing of an individual system, its integration with other system will also be verified. A large number of technical experts of different systems from France, Germany, Italy, Korea & others are regularly visiting LMRC in this connection.

LMRC is planning to conduct test trial of the Metro train on the viaduct very shortly.
