Moving in the direction of smart transportation, a mobile app has been launched in the Thane city of Maharashtra which enables the commuters to track Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) buses location, arrival and departure time, nearest bus stop, seat availibility and fare for the specific route.

The app was launched by Thane Mayor Meenakshi Shinde and is a part of the digitisation of the Thane transport system.

There is a monitoring station at the Neelkanth bus station where all the 250 buses of 74 routes of TMT will be monitored.
The entire system has been developed by a Mumbai-based tech consultant who will help the undertaking operate the system from its command and control station.
