Reliance Communications in all set to launch the Jio Fiber today. The fiber broadband service from Reliance Jio is expected to serve customers in 1600 towns across the country. In the Annual General Meeting of the Reliance Industries Limited, the following plans and services have been promised to the customers.
Jio Fiber plans
During the meeting, Reliance Jio had mentioned that the cost of the plan is expected to range from Rs. 700 and Rs. 10,000 per month. Jio Fiber plans will offer 100Mbps to 1Gbps, however, reports state that the 1Gbps plans won’t be available at launch.
Jio Fiber Device Prices and Installation Process
It is expected that there would be no installation charge levied to the Reliance Jio subscribers for the Jio Fiber device. However, a refundable fee might be applicable. As per reports, Reliance Jio is likely to offer multiple routers, offering a different set of features for a different type of consumers.
Jio Home Phone landline service
Reliance Jio will offer free landline service to all Jio Fiber subscribers. Branded as Jio Home Phone or Jio Fixed Voice, this service will offer free calls to domestic phone users and affordable international calls. An unlimited international calling pack for calls to US and Canada will also be available at a plan of Rs 500 per month.
Bundled Content by Jio
Bundled content offered by Jio, such as Jio TV and Jio Cinema will be offered for free to the Jio Fiber customers. There is also a possibility for Jio to offer the bundle access for third party streaming services.
Jio Set Top Box
Jio will also launch Set Top Box that will not only enable cable TV entertainment, but also provide features like video conferencing, access to apps, online gaming, etc. According to the company, Jio has three multiple system operators (MSOs) on board, namely Hathway, Den, and GTPL for the same.
Jio Postpaid Plus
Jio Fiber subscribers will also get Jio Postpaid Plus, a wireless service. It will be a ‘platinum grade service’ and will offer priority SIM set-up service at home, family plans with data sharing, international roaming, and phone upgrades at preferential rates. The Jio Postpaid Plus is likely to be optional and limited to higher-end Fiber plans.
Application Procedure for Jio Fiber
Prospective customers have to apply online for the Jio Fiber broadband services by visiting the Reliance website or through the MyJio app. The website is likely to be updated with details about plans and other pricing on September 5.
