Jewar Airport to be connected by dual metro lines from Greater Noida

The upcoming airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will be connected by two metro networks in Greater Noida. Both metro lines to the airport will start at Knowledge Park-II in Greater Noida.

One of the metro lines would be developed as an exclusive Airport Express Line to be connected with the Jewar airport. In this metro line, there will not be metro stations in between the terminal stations, initiating from Knowledge Park-II.

The second metro corridor will pass through the Yamuna Expressway.

The metro line spanning from Pari Chowk to the airport will be of 35.64 kilometre.

From Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park II to Yamuna Expressway green belt, the track will be elevated.

The total fund allocated for this project is approximately Rs 4,951 crore.

It is estimated that around 25 stations will be there between Pari Chowk and Jewar International Airport, which are Knowledge Park-II, Chi-I, Chi-II, Chi-III, Chi-IV, Murshadpur, Yamuna Authority’s Sector 26 A, Gautam Budh University, Night Safari, Noida International University, Sector 17 A, Sports City, sectors 22 A, 22 B, Sector 18 A, Sector 22 C, sectors 19, 18, 2, 20, 21, 28, 29, Galgotias University, Nagla Hukum Singh and Jewar airport.

While eight stations will be under Greater Noida Authority, rest will be under the Yamuna Authority. The Jewar International Airport Terminal station will be underground.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) recently approved a budget of Rs 6,869 crore for this project.
