Jaipur Development Authority scouting for GIS based solutions

Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has undertaken a lot of smart initiatives even before the Government of India envisioned the Smart Cities Mission.

“JDA has come up with various smart solutions since 2015 like Smart Parking, Smart Surveillance System, Wi-Fi hotspots, information interaction kiosks etc. They were started as pilot projects and till now phase III of these projects have been completed,” said Haulianlal Guite, Secretary, Jaipur Development Authority.

He was speaking at the Smart City Conclave, Chandigarh which was held on July 28-29. He was part of ‘Securing Cities by Leveraging Technology and  e-governance’ session.

“JDA has eyes at more than 1,000 strategic places of the city. We have a networking centre where we collect feed from these cameras, which in turn, is supplied to the concerned bodies. We are integrating different smart solutions through this one solution,” added Guite.

JDA has also launched a mobile app which gives information about the parking lots available in the pink city. A special app has also been developed to assist tourists in Jaipur. The app help them to book hotels, trains, taxis etc, facilitating their visit in the State of Rajasthan.

“We are interested in GIS based solutions, especially regarding land mapping system. We want a solution through which we can monitor real time encroachments. We are also looking forward to MIS based solutions so that time and money spent on visiting sites of the projects can be saved,” he added.
