Haryana Chief Minister reviews progress of AMRUT projects

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met the Urban Local Development Body officials and public representatives to review the progress of the urban development plans commenced earlier on Tuesday. The projects are under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). 

The ongoing projects are taking place in Gurugram, Faridabad and Karnal Smart City along with 18 other cities under AMRUT.

The meeting was attended by Kavita Jain, Urban Local Bodies Minister; Manish Grover, Minister of State for Cooperation; Vipul Goel, Industries Minister and MLAs Nagender Bhadana, Seema Trikha and Moolchand Sharma. Apart from the ministers and MLAs, Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation Commissioners were also among the attendees.

The Haryana Chief Minister stated that Rs 2,560.30 crore budget has been allocated for 45 projects in Faridabad city, out of which projects worth Rs 2.6 crore has been completed so far. At present, 15 projects are in progress.

Khattar also mentioned that tenders worth Rs 30.64 crore have been floated for two projects. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of two projects worth Rs 504.61 crore have been approved and 10 other projects of Rs 241.23 crore are in the final stage of completion.

DPRs of two more projects worth Rs 32.26 crores are in the preparation stage. On the other hand, the feasibility study of 12 projects worth Rs 1,153.09 crore is in progress.

According to Khattar, the state has enough funds for the development projects. He highlighted the need to promote the concept of e-rickshaws. He also mentioned about loan facility for beneficiaries in order to promote the e-rickshaws through urban local bodies department.
