Elets Smart City Summit, Aligarh to deliberate on Smart City components

To highlight Smart City projects in Aligarh and the progress the ‘City of Locks’ is making under the Smart Cities Mission, Aligarh Municipal Corporation in association with Elets Technomedia Private Limited, a technology and media research company, is organising the Smart City Summit, Aligarh tomorrow.

The conference to be held at Royal Residency hotel, will be inaugurated by Sameer Sharma, Additional Secretary (Urban Affairs), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

Dr Manjit Singh, Principal Secretary, Local Self Government, Government of Rajasthan, is another keynote speaker at the summit. He will throw light on various Smart City projects of Rajasthan.

From Aligarh, Subhash Chandra Sharma, Divisional Commissioner; Santosh Kumar Sharma, Commissioner, Aligarh Municipal Corporation, Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, District Magistrate, Aligarh, Shivpujan Yadav, Joint Municipal Commissioner, Aligarh will take forward the discussions.

From Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Singh Chauhan, Commissioner, Meerut Municipal Corporation; Chandra Prakash Singh, Commissioner, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation; Gaurav Verma, Commissioner, Saharanpur Municipal Corporation will also participate in the summit.

There will be detailed sessions on Smart Cities components. Dignitaries like Yaduvendra Mathur, Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, Government of India; Prem Narayan, Deputy, UIDAI; Dr Chandrakant Lahariya, National Professional Officer, WHO will take forward these discussions.

Aligarh, one of the industrial hub city of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the 13 Smart Cities identified in the State out of 100 in India. With the Smart City Mission in place, the city now envisages to “Re-define” itself into an attractive, vibrant and liveable destination.
