Acknowledging the issues concerning urban mobility and trying to find sustainable solutions, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all the transport and infrastructure related ministries and departments to work in tandem.

urban mobilityWith regard to this, the government will form different groups both at the centre and state level, which would look into resolving the issues within various departments and keep an eye on development plans to improve urban mobility.

The first informal group will be of centre that will include ministers of infrastructure and will be under the marquee of Road, Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari. And the other group of state transport minister will function towards carrying all the development processes related to transport infrastructure.

According to the government think-tank NITI Aayog, the major issue while implementing an urban mobility plan is owing to the disaggregation of stakeholders who belong to various groups of mobility. With these informal bodies in place, such issues will become a smooth affair.
