Bengaluru Airport likely to face mobility issues due to ongoing construction works

The movement of traffic including visitors and passengers at the Kempengowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru will see slow down due ongoing infrastructure development works at the forecourt of Terminal 1 and other nearby areas. Also, a few parking lots will remain closed which will impact the mobility.

On the inconvenience caused to the passengers and visitors, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) has advised passengers to prefer using public transport and taxis. Further, the BIAL mentioning about the upcoming situation in a press release said, parking lots such as P1 which is for two-wheelers, P2 (budget) and P3 (premium) will be shut with effect from March 9 due to construction work. But, parking space for private vehicles will be made available at P4. Moreover, P6 will be opened from March 20.

BIAL has decided to start airport shuttle services from P6 to terminal in every 10 minutes to facilitate passengers and visitors as the walk-time to and fro the terminal will increase due to ongoing work.

Although, the boarding area for Uber has been decided to be shifted to a facility adjacent to it from March 17, but, the Ola boarding area will remain unaffected. Airport taxis will continue to operate from the current location. However, BMTC’s Vayu Vajra services and Fly Bus services KSRTC’s Fly Bus services will not be affected.
