BBMP starts ‘war room’ to track and monitor those on home quarantine

To keep a regular check on the COVID-19 outbreak, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up a war room apart from implementing various awareness campaigns about the viral infection.

M Goutham Kumar, Mayor of Bengaluru inaugurated the facility. He also released a handbook on “Guidelines on Bengaluru Roads and Maintenance” and moreover, launched a wireless walkie-talkie system.

According to a press release, the BBMP had already mapped the COVID-19 cases and the citizens who are home quarantined. The newly launched facility, the war room, will help track these patients and others in home quarantine.

The room will function 24×7 with staff working in three shifts. The staff on-duty are directed to call all those in home quarantine and do a status check of their medical condition on a daily basis.
