The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has announced plans to desilt drains along Dayanand Bandodkar Road, contingent upon Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) reopening internal roads at St Inez. Severe water-logging from Miramar circle to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has been attributed to clogged drains.
Current road closures from Taj Vivanta to Madhuban circle and along the Caculo Mall stretch for the ‘smart road’ project have diverted all traffic to D B Road. A CCP official warned that any immediate work on D B Road would paralyze city traffic. They anticipate IPSCDL will reopen St Inez roads by May 31, easing D B Road traffic and enabling necessary drain repairs.
