The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Moscow to strengthen cooperation in smart mobility, digital governance, urban planning, and sustainable city development. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and the adoption of global best practices to accelerate Visakhapatnam’s smart city transformation.
The agreement focuses on collaboration in key areas including intelligent transport systems, digital public services, traffic management, urban infrastructure planning, environmental sustainability, and the use of advanced technologies to improve municipal service delivery. Officials from both sides noted that the partnership will enable the exchange of technical expertise and innovative urban solutions tailored to the needs of rapidly growing cities.
As part of the collaboration, GVMC and Moscow will explore deploying smart mobility solutions to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance public transport efficiency. The two cities also plan to work together on digital governance initiatives that leverage data-driven decision-making, integrated urban management systems, and citizen-centric digital services.
