TCS BPO in Patna offers 3,000 fresh jobs

In the midst of mass layoffs happening in the IT industry, a good news has emerged in Patna.

TCS has opened a new Business Process Service centre, popularly known as BPO, in the capital city of Bihar. This new BPO will churn out 3,000 fresh jobs, reported The Times of India.

“A historic day for Bihar as India’s biggest software company TCS starts its BPO Centre in Patna.Investment of industry leader TCS in Bihar will inspire other companies to invest in Bihar & for its development, said Minister of Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, while inaugurating the new centre at Patna. TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan was also present on the occasion.

The new centre has been opened under the India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) and is  the largest BPO set-up in eastern India.

“This start by TCS in Bihar is a boost to Digital India dream of narendra modi and great opportunity for youth of state. It’s my dream to take IT Industry to small towns of India so that youth doesn’t need to migrate to big cities. TCS in Bihar is a beginning,” Prasad added.

There will be three shifts for the workforce at the centre which will work 24/7
