Smart Tourism: E-Visa on arrival begins at Madurai airport

E-Visa on arrival facility has started at Madurai International Airport.

This will give a major boost up to the tourism in the State.
 
Any tourist planning to land in Madurai can apply for an e-visa four days before the arrival. As soon as the visa is approved, one can take printout of the visa and show it to the immigration officials. This visa can be used for three times an year.
 
Tourists from 150 countries can make use of this facility.
 
Madurai is the fourth city in Tamil Nadu to get the e-visa on arrival facility and 26th city in the country.
 
The airport has already put up immigration counters and all the IT infrastructure has been developed by the National Informatics Centre.
 
Currently, Madurai is directly connected to Sri Lanka, Singapore and Dubai.
 
A peace room has also been opened at the airport.
