Noida Authority to implement Integrated Traffic Management System

Integrated Traffic Management System

The Noida Authority will put in place a city surveillance system in Noida, under which 80 cameras will be installed at various intersections and roundabouts. This system will ensure that traffic violators are penalised in case of any traffic rules violations. This system is an attempt at tackling the menace of traffic in the city.

This system comes as a decision in a meeting held between Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ritu Maheshwari, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Gautam Buddh Nagar Anil Kumar Jha and other senior officials of Noida Authority.

A senior Noida Authority official has been quoted as saying, “These cameras will be directly connected with the control room and will automatically identify the traffic violators. They will trace the vehicle through its number plate and will automatically generate a challan which will be directly sent to the address of the vehicle owner. Through the system, the Authority wants people to strictly follow traffic rules while the Authority aims that the traffic congestion caused by wrong side driving and other traffic violation can be controlled.”

A delegation of Earnst and Young delivered a presentation for the Integrated Traffic Management System. According to officials, a report will be prepared and be handed over to the CEO by October 10 and further approval, the city surveillance system will be implemented within the next nine months in Noida.
