
Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Limited (NMSCDL) will launch smart parking facilities from July 1 at 15 locations of the city. The smart parking facilities would be both on-road and off-road.
The total capacity of the smart parking spaces would be 3,176 vehicles, out of which 2,190 would be for two wheelers and the rest 986 for four wheelers.
According to NMSCDL, the smart parking facility would enable the people of the city to check the availability of free parking spaces at a particular lot and pre-book it online.
The Information Communication Technology-based (ICT) parking management system will assist in providing real time information about available parking slots though mobile application. It will have multiple payment options like smart cards, tokens and e-payments.
The parking charges would be on hourly basis and the charges would be Rs 10 per hour for two-wheelers and Rs 20 per hour for four-wheelers. The parking space would have sensors and cameras for data collection on parking lot capacity and availability.
NMSCDL has plans to launch the smart parking facility in 33 locations in total and the first phase, with 15 locations is scheduled to be launched on July 1. The facility in rest of the 18 locations would be made operational in phase-wise manner. Trigyn Technologies has been given the bid to work on the smart city parking.
According to an official from NMSCDL, a mobile application has been developed and will be functional from July 1 onwards. Alongside, Virtual Message Display boards have been installed at the smart parking areas.
