
Bhopal Plus, a part of Bhopal Smart City initiative has collaborated with mobile wallet major MobiKwik to provide digital payment options to its citizens.
Now, Bhopal residents can use MobiKwik to pay their taxes and bills for utility services such as electricity and water, digitally. Bhopal Plus also provides a platform to apply for birth and death certificates, marriage registration and register complaints on civic amenities, reported The Hindustan Times.
“This association is another in line with our vision to support Digital India and the government’s Smart Cities initiative,” said business head MobiKwik, Bikram Bir Singh.
“We hope people adapt to paying bills through MobiKwik and work towards making India a digital country. MobiKwik and Bhopal Municipal Corporation would be incentivising digitally paying users with five percent cash back on bill payments,” said CEO, Bhopal Smart City development, Chandramauli Shukla.
MobiKwik has over 55 million plus users on its platform and currently powers payments for IRCTC, NHAI, GSRTC, Meru Cabs, Big Bazaar, MakeMyTrip, OYO Rooms, Zomato, PVR, Archies, WHSmith India and others.
