
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) presented its annual surplus budget of Rs 27.20 crore for 2015-16 with focus on the ambitious Smart City initiative.
In the budget speech, NDMC Chairman Jalaj Srivastava announced a slew of projects that the civic body will undertake to make the vision of smart city a reality.
From the replacement of 18,500 streetlight poles with LED lights fitted with CCTV cameras, 3D digital mapping for urban planning and creation of Wi-fi access points to generation of solar energy and providing an automated parking facility, the civic body plans to take robust steps.
