Kotak Realty Fund raises $250 million stock fund

Kotak-realty-fundKotak Realty Fund (KRF), one of India’s first private equity real estate funds, has collected $250 million from institutional investors for equity investments in real estate projects across the country, according to a release by the fund.

The fund, which will be Kotak Realty’s third off-shore fund, launched in January 2015, will mainly invest through equity deals from India’s top six property markets including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai over a timespan of 2-3 years.

S Srinivasan, CEO, Kotak Realty Fund said that the fund raise will boost the confidence of their investors. It has been a result of their consistent and disciplined investment management strategy for over a decade ever since they started asset management in this class. He also told that the Overseas investors are now being very careful in selecting their partners and investment managers.

Kotak Realty Fund has so far raised a total of $1.4 billion, out of which $800 million has already been invested.
