Kirron Kher joins as Guest of Honour in Smart City Conclave, Chandigarh

Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament from Chandigarh, is leading various developmental programmes in the Union Territory.

Last year she gifted her constituency four rapid response vehicles for the Disaster Management Centre. The vehicles gifted by Kher will help in providing immediate relief in case of any emergency.

Kirron Kher has a successful career as an actress. Before coming to politics, Kher was actively involved in various social movements like Laadli which is a campaign against female infanticide and Roko Cancer, which is a campaign for awareness of cancer. She is still associated with these causes.

She fought 2014 General Elections on BJP ticket, winning the seat with more than 1,91,362 votes, defeating sitting MP, Congress leader Pawan Bansal who received 1,21,720 votes.

She has always been vocal about promoting Chandigarh as a film city. This film city will be developed in Sarangpur, Chandigarh.

Kher is known to organise public meetings in Chandigarh where she listens to citizens problems and helps in solving them.

She is joining as a Guest of Honour at Smart City Conclave, to be held in Chandigarh on 28th and 29th July. The conclave, to be organised by Elets Technomedia seeks to facilitate exchange of knowledge on Smart Cities and urban development taking place across various cities selected under the Smart Cities Mission.

The deliberations at the conclave will be held around ICT initiatives, technological interventions, innovative solutions in the Indian urban space and the best practices being followed among the unpcoming Smart Cities in the country.

On this occasion, the 150th issue of eGov magazine — Asia, Middle-East and Africa’s premium magazine on ICT and egovernance — will also be launched, highlighting the advancements made under the Smart City initiative and reviewing the urban development happening in Chandigarh and across India.
