While showing a sense of achievement, UPMRC’s Managing Director Kumar Keshav said, “It is a wonderful achievement by UPMRC project team at Kanpur Metro Project. It has been only one month and twenty days since we commenced civil construction work on the priority section of the project starting with nominal labour at the site. I am happy to share that only with our zeal and determination against a very difficult time on account of COVID-19 pandemic, the labor force has crossed the figure of 1000.”

Permanent labour camps are being constructed for labourers inside the Casting Yard. 104 rooms are to be prepared as labour camps, out of which around 70 rooms have been already prepared. Considering social distancing factor, accommodation for only seven labourers/per room is permitted currently, although the room has the space for 10 labourers. The number of labourers is continuously increasing and recently, more than half of the workers deputed for construction work are from the state only.
