Government will further digitise governance to realise people-friendly civil service: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Emphasising the need to digitise government services, Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan said that the state government would further expand e-services to make people-friendly civil service a reality. This will also ensure transparency in the system, he added. CM Vijayan, following the launch of a set of digital services for the revenue department, addressed the occasion and said that the state government aims to extend maximum services to people at their doorstep.

The CM noted that the rise of e-literacy and digital infrastructure has enabled the people of Kerala to make effective use of the e-governance system. He announced that many services in the government departments, majorly on which people depend the most, have been made available online. At the event, a host of digital interventions were launched for the revenue department including a mobile application to pay land tax online.

During his address, CM Vijayan said, “People are using these services in the best way. Online systems are adequate to ensure the efficiency and transparency of government services. The e-services will be further expanded to make people-friendly civil service a reality in the state.”

Appreciating the mobile application launched on the day, he said that the newly launched land tax application would enable people to remit the tax and apply for various certificates related to land from anywhere in the world. It was decided to include other services of the department as well in this application which is designed in a people-friendly manner, the CM added.
